For most truck-related tasks, a capable full-size light-duty truck, like the highly regarded Silverado 1500, is perfectly suitable. However, for the truly immense jobs in Greenville, you need something bigger. You need something heavy duty. You need Chevy Silverado HD. With their fortified chassis, high-strength frames, powerful engine options, and smart technologies, Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD are equipped to make light work out of the heaviest tasks.

Completely redesigned for 2020, Silverado HD trucks are stronger and more capable than ever. The already stout towing and payload ratings get a significant boost thanks to chassis and suspension upgrades, a new available Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission, and available "dually" configuration. The result is a more than 50-percent increase in tow capability over the previous model year.

With its inviting and attractive design, available premium upholsteries, and intuitively arranged controls, the upscale cabin of the Silverado HD is your corner office out on the road. A longer wheelbase and elevated cab position provide even greater head room and legroom, and innovative storage solutions, like the segment-first rear in-seatback compartment, help keep things organized and out of the way.

The standard Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system keeps you connected, entertained, and on schedule, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration and an available Wi-Fi hotspot. The available multicolor 15-inch Head-Up Display projects important driving information directly onto the windshield, for easy viewing without losing focus on the road.

2020 Silverado HD Power and Performance

Standard power for Silverado HD trucks comes from a 6.6-liter V-8 engine that generates 401 horsepower and a class-leading gasoline torque rating of 464 pound-feet. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and when properly equipped, 2500HD and 3500HD models can conventionally tow up to 17,400 pounds and 20,000 pounds respectively.

For even greater towing tenacity, Powdersville truck buyers can equip the available Duramax® 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V-8 . Paired with the all-new Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission, it makes 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Maximum conventional towing reaches 18,600 pounds for the 2500HD and 21,500 pounds for the 3500HD.

As impressive as those numbers are, there are still a few jobs out there that require stratospheric capability, and that's where the Chevy Silverado 3500HD really shines. When hooked up to the available gooseneck hitch package, this beast boasts a maximum tow rating of 35,500 pounds!

When it comes to hauling, a max payload rating of 7,442 pounds means that if you can it fit in the truck bed, Silverado HD can carry it for you. With best-in-class cargo volume, 12 standard tie-downs, and available features like a 120-volt outlet and LED cargo lighting, Durabed is ready for whatever the day brings.

Towing Tech

In the modern truck era, when the job is on the line, beefy powertrains and huge tow ratings aren't always enough; which is why Silverado HD models feature several available technologies that provide even greater trailering capability and confidence.

  • The segment-first Advanced Trailering System includes handy features that can help make towing less of a hassle, including:
  • Auto Grade Parking: When in park, this system automatically engages the parking brake, preventing the truck from rolling out of alignment with the trailer.
  • Trailer tire pressure and temperature monitoring: This system allows you to view trailer tire information on the central touchscreen, without needing to pull over and manually inspect the tires yourself.
  • Hitch Guidance with Hitch View: This system takes the guess work out of hitch alignment, with dynamic guidelines that enhance precision when in reverse.
  • Customizable trailer profiles store information about different trailers, making it easy to track metrics like mileage, transmission temperature, fuel efficiency, and more.

Other available towing tools include predeparture checklists, trailer lighting diagnostics, maintenance reminders, a StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System, and available Digital Variable Steering Assist.

When handling extra-large loads, visibility is often at a premium. Fortunately, Silverado HD offers up to 15 unique camera views—more than any other truck in its segment—making it easy to monitor your truck, trailer, and surroundings. Using the central infotainment screen, you can switch between four hitch views, six driving views, and five parking views.

Advanced Safety Features

While we all strive to be attentive drivers, life can be unpredictable, and even the most seasoned drivers can't plan for everything. With that in mind, Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD offer a suite of available driver-assistance technologies that act as an extra pair of eyes on the road, helping you detect and avoid hazards. Available features include:

  • Front and Rear Park Assist (parking sensors)
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • IntelliBeam® head lights

Trim Levels

In addition to the base WT trim, features for Silverado HD are streamlined to three tiers: LT, LTZ, and High Country

  • LT: Building off the base trim, the LT trim adds OnStar with 4G LTE Wi-fi, heated power mirrors, a remote-locking tailgate, HD and satellite radio, keyless entry, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
  • LTZ: Next up, the LTZ trim adds extra creature comforts like dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, heated power front seats, driver seat memory settings, and a power-sliding rear window. Also included are 18-inch wheels, fog lights, a 110-volt power outlet, and a seven-pin wiring harness with a trailer brake controller.
  • High Country: The top of the line High Country tier features 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a wireless charging pad, navigation, premium Bose audio, ventilated front seats, a spray-in bed-liner, parking sensors, and more.
